Trull, Pitminster & Corfe

Meet your Labour Candidate for Trull, Pitminster & Corfe ward:

Neil Guild

Many people I meet in Taunton ask me why we can’t be more like Exeter; with a thriving local economy, big employers, and high value jobs. What many people don’t know is that Exeter has been run by an effective Labour council for most of the past 20 years.

By contrast the Tory administration of Taunton Deane lacks dynamism. There’s no evidence that this is set to change with the new Somerset West and Taunton Council. Rather, that ineffectiveness is set to continue on an even larger canvas, while areas like ours will have a diminished voice.

A Labour run council would be a much needed change from stagnation towards the flourishing community we all want to see. If elected my priorities would be transport, housing, and economic development.

I live locally in the ward. I’m an asset manager, specialising in civil infrastructure. I’m married, with two school age children.
